We are offering a RARE 1860s original CDV photograph of the War Department Building and the Navy Department Building, Washington, D. (written in period ink along the side). A horse-drawn trolley stands in front of the buildings. Printed across the side of the trolley is Capitol War & Navy Depts. A man, we assume the driver.

Is casually posed with his legs crossed at the ankles as he leans with one arm against the back of the trolley.
